Another unpleasant news is spreading from the camp of the French national team: Lucas Hernandez will not be able to play at the World Cup in Qatar.
The French defender was injured in the 13th minute against the Australian national team, due to which he could not continue. It was later revealed that the 26-year-old player suffered a serious injury to his right knee and will miss the entire 2022/23 season.
“The whole team is very sorry for Lucas. We lost a very important figure, he is a fighter and I have no doubt that he will do everything to come back stronger,” said Didier Deschamps, head coach of the current world champions.
The French national team has already lost its 6th player due to injury. The tricolors lost N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba, Karim Benzema, Presnel Kimpembe and Christopher Nkunku.
Didier Deschamps ’ team, with a weakened team, won convincingly against the Australian team (4:1). In the meeting, Olivier Giroud scored a double and equaled the legendary Thierry Henry with goals scored by the national team (51 goals), while Mbappé and Rabiot scored one goal and one assist.
