"I don't need to win the Champions League eight times to know how good I am" - Gianluigi Buffon

Gianluigi Buffon does not believe that not winning the Champions League will affect his legacy. The 44-year-old goalkeeper is currently playing for “Parma” in Serie B.

“I keep playing for a lot of reasons. I feel like I’m still pretty strong and competitive. I feel like I’m part of the golden age of the sport. I came back to Parma because I am a happy person who saw how proud the fans are that I will be back in front of their team.

I have won many titles in my career, but there are some that I have not won. I am happy that I fought for them, but personally, I achieved success thanks to the love of the fans. I don’t need to win eight Champions Leagues to know how good I am. Even without the Champions League trophy, I know what I’m worth.

Criticism is my fuel. The older I get, the more motivated I am. When you’re young, it hurts. As you get older, it gives you a boost. “Sometimes I really needed that criticism and I paid attention to who was criticizing me,” - said Buffon.
